A 2020 without stress

Welcome back Cougars! We know that after three beautiful weeks of Christmas vacation, it will be kind of hard to get back into the rhythm of school. To make this semester easier and with less stress, here are some tips that will hopefully help you throughout this year.
The first and most important tip is to get plenty of sleep and exercise. Most of us, during vacation, we get used to going to bed late and we don’t exercise enough. This is why we need to re-establish our bad habits and go back to our normal and disciplined routine. It is recommended for most people to sleep at least 8 hours a day. It is also scientifically proven that if we don’t get enough sleep we are more vulnerable to stress. Regarding exercise, even though it’s not a big workout in the gym, a short walk will help get your blood moving which will release endorphins and at the same time it will help release stress.
Another tip in order to help reduce stress, is to plan ahead and organize yourself. In order to organize yourself you shouldn’t leave all your work for the last minute. In many cases, writing down and planning out what you have to do, can also help you to reduce stress and to get your work done on time.
The last, but not the least important tip, is to keep a positive and confident attitude towards whatever you do. Most of us have heard the saying, “Is your glass half empty or half full?” What this saying means is how you interpret or face your problems, or any aspect of your life, in either a positive or negative way. For example, when you get home and your pets jump on top of you, you can either think of it in a positive way (glass half full) such as, my dogs love and missed me, or you can also see it in a negative way (glass half empty) such as, ughh this dog got all my clothes dirty! It’s up to you how you interpret different situations.
As you can see, by following all, or even some of these tips, you will definitely find the benefits of a year with less stress. Welcome to a stress free 2020 Cougars!
