Copa Libertadores Champions

Final of Copa Libertadores, the greatest achievement, the greatest prize, in South American soccer. Fans of both teams gathered all around Brazil to watch the match; the pandemic didn’t let them go to the famous Maracana stadium to watch the game so streets were full with people and TV’s all around to see the final.

This final was the first ever to be played between two teams from Sao Paulo, just imagine the importance of it for the people of the city, it was absolutely incredible! The temperature in Rio was around 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and the match had just started. Both teams were giving it their all in the field, one attack after the other, but neither could manage to score a goal.

When the game was about to come to an end, in the 95th minute, the head coach of Santos was sent off the game for time-wasting. Many can say that this is what sparked something in the Palmeiras players’ heads. 99 minute: the sub who had just gone into the game managed to score the most important header of his life. A quick cross was kicked by one of the players, and Breno gave Palmeiras the victory. After 22 years, Palmeiras have managed to win their second Copa Libertadores title. That is a moment that wouldn’t be forgotten by any Palmeiras fan. I encourage you to watch the highlights of the game on Youtube or any other platform that you want. You will not regret it!
