Felix Auger Aliassime wins the ATP Rotterdam, his first title

 

Felix Auger Aliassime the 21-year-old Canadian won the Rotterdam ATP after beating the Greece Stefano Tsisipas in two straight sets 6/4 and 6/2 this Sunday 02/13/22. Felix said that this was the happiest day of his entire career because after losing 8 straight tournament finals, today he broke the curse and won his first title. Felix said he was very happy about it. The Canadian, after having lost against Gael Monfils in the final of the previous ATP, came stronger than ever. Defeating major league players such as Andy Murray, Andrey Rublev, and Cameron Norrie. 

 

Stefano said he was beaten by the new best player, a player who gave it his all, serving well the entire match and hitting good shots. Felix also said that he was very happy that his first title was in Rotterdam since a couple of years ago he played the ATP in Rotterdam and came close to winning, and he was very happy that his first title was in Rotterdam. Aliassime said in the interview at the end of the match that he appreciates all the support given and hopes that this tournament will be one of many.

 

Felix’s coach Toni Nadal, uncle of one of the best tennis players in history Rafael Nadal, said that Felix had all the confidence to challenge one of the best players in the world and that defeating them is a matter of practice and self-confidence.
