FIVB and Russia 2022

The international volleyball federation on Tuesday announced that the 2022 world championship has been moved from Russia due to the country’s military invasion of Ukraine. The board of administration has come to the conclusion that it would be impossible to prepare and stage the event there. So the FIVB will look for an alternative host nation to ensure that the global volleyball family feels safe and proud to participate in a peaceful festival sport.
Later on, the FIVB took a decision that came into force with immediate effect and until further notice. Russia and Belarus are not eligible for international and continental competitions. All their teams including clubs, officials, beach volleyball, and snow volleyball players. Because the FIVB remains concerned about the ongoing war, to stand in solidarity with the volleyball community and people of Ukraine.
And finally, the FIVB has relocated with immediate effect the VNL (volleyball nations league). It was supposed to be held in Russia during June and July. Since the FIVB continues to closely follow the situation, they share their grave concern for the people of Ukraine.
