Girl’s Soccer Team Cougar Cup Review
On October 18, 2019, the highschool girl’s soccer team played the final against Franco Boliviano. It was an intense game, not only because both teams were on the verge of scoring, but because it went to penalties after a tied score of 1-1. Although the girls lost at penalties, they won the game and were champions in our eyes.
Despite playing an amazing match, there are a few things that should have been done that would have assured the win. To begin with, some passes were not accurate. Some players passed the ball to the opponents or passed it too hard or soft that led to the ball being in the other team’s possession. Also, there was a lack of communication that led to the same team members going all at once to the ball or to an opponent, leaving vital spaces completely empty. They also lacked organization. Some team members were not in their places which led to dangerous attacks from the opposing team. Regardless of these things that should be worked on, the girls played incredibly. If they work on these flaws, there is no doubt that they will dominate friendship games. We have faith that they will make the school proud no matter what.
