The crash that left the Frenchman escaping from a burning car is being investigated. The results might be surprising to some. Pat Symonds says that they cannot deduce how the driver was able to survive the wreck. It has been concluded that he was in the burning car for around 28 seconds, after getting stuck and not being able to pull himself out. As he was trying to escape his shoe got caught. He had to leave his shoe in order to escape alive. However, as he was jumping out he did put his hands in the fire, leaving his gloves melted and him with severe burns to the back of his hands. It can be deduced that the halo did assist him since it split the barrier and allowed for him to remain conscious. Making his narrow escape possible.
