Virtual Concerts: The New Fashion?

Last year will be remembered for the pandemic that killed millions of people and left everyone inside their homes. During this pandemic, many industries around the world lost a lot of money. One of the most affected industries was the music industry. The music industry wins money by making new albums and concerts. During the pandemic, one of these two sources was completely stopped. The concerts were canceled during 2020 because people needed to be at least a meter apart and also because the COVID cases increased in a major way. Because of this, the concerts needed to accommodate the situation that is happening in the world. The concerts since 2020 became virtual, but what exactly does a Virtual Concert mean?

As its name implies, Virtual Concerts are concerts that are done without any public but are instead hosted by streaming services, such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitch, etc. Artists such as John Lennon, Miley Cyrus, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Sech, and Demi Lovato already did a virtual concert during 2020. Most of the artists decided to do an Instagram Live and started to sing but others did other different things. Bad Bunny decided to sing on top of a bus around New York!! Jbalvin and Sech decided to do a concert on the famous video game Fortnite. They sang various of their most famous songs, but also released a new song during the event. The song called “La Luz” was launched at the event and was very well received by the public.

In my opinion, I think this new way of having concerts is a very good way of entertaining people. The Virtual Concerts are entertaining, but most importantly safe because everyone is at home. I hope this pandemic is over soon so that we can go back to the music festivals, and that way we can get entertained.
