The United States has recently elected its new president. The Democrat, Joe Biden, has won the presidential election with at least 290 electoral votes. This election had the highest voter turnout rate among eligible citizens since 1900. Recently, a polemic dispute has arisen between the Democrats and the Republicans. Donald Trump has stated that there has been a fraud committed in this election and that he won, and I quote, “by a lot”. Did fraud take place in this year’s elections? Did Donald Trump actually win? Or is Joe Biden the true winner? Before we get to any conclusions, let’s take a look at what both sides have to say about this matter.
Donald Trump (@realDonaldTrump) has been non-stop tweeting confirming that there has been fraud and that he did in fact win. He talked about how Pennsylvania, a very crucial state in elections, prevented them from watching the ballot count, which would be illegal. Trump decided to take action and take this, among other fraud accusations, to court. Many Republicans do believe that this election has had its illegalities and that Trump did truly win. On the other hand, Joe Biden’s supporters and other Democrats believe that he is the winner. It seems that Biden has not addressed the fraud allegations directly yet.
It has not been confirmed nor denied that fraud has taken place in the 2020 presidential elections in the United States. It might take a while until courts and authorities can prove or disprove these allegations. Until then, let’s hope that no confrontations arise between civilians and that the truth comes out.
