A Christmas Memory that will Last Forever

The pandemic has affected everyone’s life, in one way or another. For many of us, holidays are a time to enjoy, host get-togethers, and travel to see family and friends. But this year it was completely different because of the pandemic. We were forced to stay home because the covid cases started rising every day, more deaths, hospitals were running to their full capacity, it was a nightmare.

Many of us were disappointed, scared, and upset because we were celebrating one of the best holidays in a very unexpected way. I know for a fact that many people that had covid had to spend Christmas alone in their room, in front of a computer talking to their relatives through zoom. Christmas was also special and unique for those who had the chance to spend it with their relatives because even though they stayed at home they were able to bake goods together, play games, and as a whole, they were able to spend more time together.

People learned to value and appreciate family time more than ever. Gifts became secondary as many people couldn’t get gifts or receive gifts. The most important aspect of Christmas was to express love and gratitude through words, zoom calls, Whatsapp, and those who were lucky enough were able to express their love through hugs and kisses.

This Christmas was surely a memorable one that left an impact on everyone’s lives. Most importantly it left us with a message, to be grateful and appreciate every moment spent with your family, and to enjoy and appreciate every moment of your life. Even though this was one more Christmas in our lives, it surely was one that will never be forgotten because of its uniqueness.
